Utilizing the recycling bins is both better for the environment and is a good lifelong habit, as many major metropolitan areas require it. In Seattle, you can get fined for throwing away recyclable materials.
While these blue bins do have an apartment number on them, they are open for all residents to use.
The blue recycling bins are for discarded junk mail, newspapers, books, magazines, cardboard boxes, and plastic containers with a recycling symbol on them.
We also hate for aluminum cans to go in the trash as the easiest thing to recycle. You can also put those in the blue bins, save them to recycle for cash yourselves, or use the collection bins in shared laundry rooms.
